-       Optical spectroscopy of quantum-well heterostructures.

-       Transport experiments in semiconductor QDs. Main research topic: Kondo effect.

-       Quantum transport in semiconductor nanowires and carbon nanotubes.

-       Electron transport in semiconductor nanowires. Collaboration with L. Kouwenhoven’s group (Delft), E. Bakkers’ group (Philips), S. Rubini’s group (Trieste), A. Ferrari’s group (Cambridge).

-       Spin-related properties of few-electron quantum dots in InGaAs-based heterostructures. Collaboration with Prof. Sorba’s group (Trieste).

-       Semiconductor-nanowire devices (Si, InAs/InP, GaAs, GaN/AlN). Main topics: nanoelectronics, superconducting proximity effect in hybrid semiconductor-superconductor systems. Collaboration with several groups supplying nanowires: C. Lieber’s group (Harvard), Bakkers’ group (originally Philips and now TU Eindhoven), Rubini’s group (TASC-Trieste), colleagues at CEA Grenoble and Néel Institute  (P. Gentile, R. Songmuang).

-       SiGe self-assembled quantum dots. Main topic: hole-spin physics and control. Collaboration with O. Schmidt’s group (IFW Dresden).

-       Single-dopant transport in silicon nano-MOSFETs (collaboration with CEA-LETI).

-       Electronic cooling and thermometry in GaAs-based mesoscopic structures. Collaboration with F. Giazotto (NEST laboratory, Pisa).
