A new thermal management of the SBT Cryogenic Loop Heat Pipe

The first “Cryogenic Loop Heat Pipe” (CLHP) SBT prototype has been proved to be a highly efficient passive thermal link at around 80K temperature for spatial application. The presentation introduces the principle of a “new thermal management” of the CLHP associated to this concept to improve its performances. This new principle needed modifications of the CLHP. An experimental program has been done for the evaluation of this principle. The result of this evaluation are presented and discussed. This work has been done within scientist collaboration with the Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry (Chinese Academy of Science).
