The september issue of C.R. Physique offers an unconventional content entitled Nanosciences and nanotechnologies:hopes and concerns edited by J. Villain and L. Laurent. Just for once, this issue is targeted towards a large audience, talking about physics of course, but also about its social consequences. The articles deal with today technical achievements and perspectives, but also with ethical, legal and philosophical questions.
This issue opens with a contribution by J.-L. Pautrat, followed by the article In a nanoscience lab co-authored by P. Bayle-Guillemaud, E. Hadji, P. Reiss and J. Villain
